About
The RSHE Service is committed to improving the quality of Relationships, Sex and Health Education for children and young people. We use interactive training and workshops to fully engage adults, children and young people in the learning experience. We pride ourselves on our bespoke service which meets the needs of individual schools.

Inclusion is at the core of all our work. We follow the government RSHE Guidance and relevant Equalities legislation to ensure our provision includes all pupils.

We want to work with schools who prioritise RSHE and recognise its importance to pupil wellbeing. Our workshops should complement RSHE or PSHE provided by the school not replace it. We liaise with schools to provide content that fits in with their existing programme and meets the needs of pupils.
Effective RSHE for all
Director - Catherine Kirk
Hi, I'm Catherine and I'm passionate about the importance of good quality RSHE. I started the RSHE Service in 2011 to provide support to schools in this vital area.
A bit about my experience...I have led the improvement of RSHE provision for two local authorities and worked nationally for organisations including Kidscape, National Children's Bureau and Optimus Education. My work in RSHE is nationally recognised and has been mentioned in parliament.

I am series editor of the Hodder Education Explore PSHE secondary resource series and am co-author of Discovery Education's Health and Relationships primary scheme.

In 2018 I founded national RSE Day for Nottingham City Council, a day which is now celebrated nationally on the last Thursday in June each year. I'm currently leading on the roll-out of training for the DFE across the East Midlands.

I believe the core aims of RSHE are promoting positive relationships and healthy lifestyles, safeguarding children and young people from harm and enabling them to seek help when needed. All our work is based around these core aims.
